Network Marketing or Multi Level Marketing (MLM) as it's sometimes known was all the rage in the eighties and early nineties.  For any business owner it allowed them to expand quickly and cheaply.

Unfortunately anyone can set up an MLM company and this led to many money hungry, ethically questionable business people  jumping on the bandwagon.  This public quickly became jaded with the concept.  Afterall we probably all know someone who is always touting the next big thing in the MLM world.

Today the concept is used less and less, but when it is used properly it can be very succesful.  What I would say is that MLM is not a get rich quick scheme, the only way to make money is to work long and hard and you have to be a sales person at heart to make the big bucks.
